Monthly Online Network Meeting - Women's Sport Collective Oceania
Special Guest: Roshika Deo
Roshika Deo is the Gender Equality, Disability and Social Inclusion (GEDSI) and Safeguarding Advisor with Team Up, an Australian Government sport for development programme running across seven Pacific Island countries. Add to that, Team Up is a founding member of the Oceania Impact Network - a consortium bringing together Team Up, the IOC, UN Women, and the ONOC Equity Commission. Law degree, Master in Public Policy, and years on the ground in the Pacific, Roshika is part of the work in Fiji where they have gone first, globally, on using a whole-of-government National Action Plan to End Violence Against Women and Girls - in and through sport. Five essential actions and forty-four sports - Government, NGOs, the UN, and sport all in the room together creating real, monitored, coordinated action. And thanks to Roshika attending this session, we get to hear what that actually looks like from the inside.
